23:42 Sabeans. The Sabeans were an ancient tribe or tribes in Arabia. The Hebrew word is very similar to the word for “drunkards,” and some translations so render it. The context here, however, indicates that they constituted still another ethnic group with whom Israel and Judah had been tempted into spiritual adultery.
