Join us for the Black Hills Adventures and Conference! ICR’s Dr. Randy Guliuzza, Dr. Tim Clarey, and Dr. Brian Thomas, along with Dr. Kevin Horton and Mr. Mike Mueller from the Institute for Biblical Authority, and John and Ynita Swomley of JandY Ministry.

This multi-day event includes activities for your entire family! Wednesday and Thursday will feature guided tours of several notable geological points of interest, monuments, and museums in the Black Hills of South Dakota, as well as the Badlands National Park. Friday and Saturday will feature fun and informative sessions hosted at the First Assembly Church of Rapid City. Bring your family for this memorable adventure, as we experience and appreciate the majesty and workmanship of our Lord Jesus, as seen in His creation.

What is the schedule for the Guided Tours? The Guided Tours will take place on Thursday, June 8th, with various locations included in two different bus tours. Please click here for the Badlands National Park Bus and Hiking Tour schedule, and here for the Black Hills Bus Tour schedule.
Is registration required for this event? Yes. Registration is required for all activities and events included in the Black Hills Adventures and Conference, though some activities are free to attend. Please visit www.icr.org/BlackHillsCreation to see the full schedule of events, with more details on which activities and events are free, and which require a paid registration.
How much does it cost to attend this event? • Mount Rushmore site visit – Registration for the Mount Rushmore visit on Wednesday is FREE, however participants in the tour are responsible for parking and admission costs to get into the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Please use code BlackHillsFree to access the free tickets to participate in the Mount Rushmore site visit.

• Chuckwagon supper at Fort Hays – No registration is required for the Chuckwagon supper at Fort Hays on Wednesday evening. Simply show up at the Fort Hays Old West Town at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening for the chuckwagon supper and a music show. Please note that participants are responsible for all meal costs related to the chuckwagon supper.

• Black Hills Bus Tour – Registration for the Black Hills Bus Tour on Thursday is $60.00 / person (for all ages), and includes admission at all stops. Please note that participants are responsible for all additional expenses related to lunch at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park, and dinner and shopping in Hill City, SD.

• Badlands National Park Bus and Hiking Tour – Registration for the Badlands National Park Bus and Hiking Tour on Thursday is $60.00 / person (for all ages), and includes admission at all stops. Please note that participants are responsible for all additional expenses related to lunch at the Cedar Pass Lodge in Badlands National Park, and dinner and shopping at Wall Drug in Wall, SD.

• Free Black Hills Field Trips with IBA – Registration for the Black Hills Field Trips with IBA speakers on Thursday and Friday is FREE, however participants in the tour are responsible for all costs associated with the sites visited on each field trip, including parking and admission costs, and will be responsible for their own lunch.

Can I get a refund if I have to cancel my registration? Refunds will be issued for canceled registrations that are requested up to 24 hours prior to the event / activity. Registrant may be responsible for paying Eventbrite ticketing fees, if applicable. Please email events@ICR.org or log into Eventbrite using the information you registered with, and cancel your ticket through the Eventbrite platform.
How do I register for this event? Please use the registration portal below to register for any of the activities and events that are a part of the Black Hills Adventures and Conference.
Can I register on site at the time of the tour? We request that registration be made in advance for all tour activities, so we have an accurate head count. Please note: when registration for the bus tours has filled, you are welcome to put your name and contact info in the waitlist to be notified if an open seat becomes available.
Is there a discount for groups / families? Currently there are no discounts available for groups or families.
What topics will be covered by the speakers? Flood geology, dinosaurs, fossils, creature adaptation, the Biblical foundation for science, why Genesis is important, and other topics!
What age level are the tours geared toward? All events and activities will be open to families, groups, and individuals of all ages, although the bus tours and field trips are geared towards a middle-school and older age group due to the length of time involved, and the hiking and walking involved.
Are there any lodging options nearby? There are several hotel and motel options within a few minutes’ drive of the host church. See a map and listing of hotels and motels in Rapid City here.

We also suggest you check out the lodging options at the Elk Creek Resort, located in Piedmont, SD. (about 30 minutes North of the conference location). The owners of Elk Creek Resort are friends of ICR, and the Petrified Forrest, along with a rock shop selling petrified wood and other geological specimens, is located on the resort property.

Registration costs for the Black Hills Creation Conference (Saturday) are:
• Conference Ticket – Adult - $25.00
• Conference Ticket – Youth (grades 6th – 12th) - $15.00
• Conference Ticket – Student (grades 1st – 5th) - $15.00
