42:20 ye dissembled in your hearts. It is foolish to expect God to answer a prayer for guidance if we have already made up our minds what we will or will not do. He does promise to answer such prayers if we are sincerely willing to follow His will before we learn what it is. See notes on John 7:17 and Romans 12:1-2.
