seven years
1 Kings 6:38
6:38 seven years. Solomon’s temple was surely one of the most magnificent buildings ever constructed. It was not overly large, but the whole operation—designing, quarrying, transporting material, building, etc., apparently involved the labors of over 150,000 workmen and took seven years in building (I Kings 5:13-16). The seven years, perhaps providentially, corresponded at least in duration to the Lord’s seven-year sabbatical cycle (Leviticus 25:3,4.).
