Nebuchadnezzar’s spirit was “troubled,” probably because, after he succeeded in establishing his kingdom as the most powerful in the world, he planned to require his subjects to worship him as a god, in the spirit of the coming world dictator of the last days (Revelation 13:15). Even though he could not recall his dream, he knew that it might somehow affect his plans.
