Schedule

Friday, January 17, 2020
Time Speaker Title Description
10:00 a.m. ICR Discovery Center opens
10:35 a.m. Dr. Randy Guliuzza "The Miracle of Human Life: Darwin or Design?" This popular presentation covers rarely discussed details of human reproduction at the system and cellular levels that form irrefutable arguments for a supernaturally designed system. The real star of the show is the developing baby. In terms of guiding implantation into the uterus all the way to breastfeeding, it is the baby/placenta unit that is the dynamic force in the orchestration of its own destiny. All babies are made in the image of God, which is the distinctive trait of humanity.
11:10 a.m. Break for lunch
12:35 p.m. Dr. Jeff Tomkins "Made in the Image of...an Ape?" The media, movies, and nature programs overwhelmingly emphasize the idea that humans evolved from primate ancestors. But what do genetics and the fossil record say? Do people and chimps really have 98% similar DNA? Who or what was “Lucy”? Were the Neanderthals sub-human? Dr. Tomkins shows that people were uniquely created in the image of God, just as Genesis says.
1:10 p.m. Break
1:20 p.m. Dr. Randy Guliuzza "Why Evolutionary Thinking Breeds a Culture of Death" Death-survival, fitness, and selection are core characteristics of Darwin’s concept of natural selection. An organism’s power to adapt does not necessarily depend on death and survival. Organisms were commanded to “fill the earth” before the Fall. According to the Bible, death is an enemy that will be destroyed (I Cor. 15:26).
2:00 p.m. Q&A with both speakers
2:30 p.m. Dismiss to exhibit hall and planetarium (additional ticket purchase required)
