Song of Solomon 4:1
4:1 fair. The bridegroom is speaking from Song of Solomon 4:1–5:1, praising the beauties and perfections of his young bride. In picturesque similes, appropriate to the culture, he describes seven aspects of her beauty—her eyes, hair, teeth, lips, temples, neck and breasts—all speaking of perfection in his eyes. “There is no spot in thee,” he says (Song of Solomon 4:7). Just so, in Christ, we are made complete (Colossians 2:10).
