And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:

And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

Deuteronomy 29:5

29:5 upon thy foot. See note on Deuteronomy 8:4.

Deuteronomy 29:6

29:6 wine or strong drink. During their forty years in the wilderness, God had fed them with manna from heaven and water from the rock instead of bread and wine. This may well have contributed to their ability to defeat the Amorites and other Canaanites.
